Prevent Frozen Pipes in Glen Mills

Freezing weather can lead to burst pipes in Glen Mills. Burst pipes lead to water damage and other hassles. Prevent Pipes from Bursting                                     

• Prepare before the coldest weather hits – burst pipes are most likely when the temperatures don't go above 20 degrees F
• Insulate areas that have exposed pipes
• Wrap pipes with several inches of pipe insulation
• Repair any drafty areas
• Keep the indoor temperature at least 55 degrees F, even while people are sleeping or are away
• Let cold water drip through the taps to keep pipes from freezing
• Remove all hoses from the outside taps
• If there are inside doors to uninsulated places (such as a garage or a storage room), keep those doors closed
